Provide High Protein

One of the most publicized health benefits of spirulina is its protein content. Although it contains a lot of protein and is also a complete protein that contains all the essential amino acids, the typical amount of spirulina you choose is only about 6-10 grams per day. So while the protein content of 100 grams on this chart (57.47 g), you would struggle to get more than 5 grams of protein per day from spirulina. If you eat your usual diet, you can get more protein per serving per gram from many foods such as lettuce, chicken, lettuce, or soy at a much lower price. But for many people, it can be a valuable and advantageous source of supplemental food as long as they are not addicted to it.

Produce Vitamin B-12

Some of the health benefits of spirulina are said to be its higher vitamin B-12 content, which is a vitamin that vegetarians and vegans, for example, can sometimes struggle to get in sufficient quantities. However, you can see from the table that spirulina is listed as having zero B-12 content. It is considered an analog form that people cannot metabolize, so they cannot use it. However, the scientific community generally agrees that spirulina should not be considered a B-12 vitamin that people can use. So yes, it will contain a level of B-12, but it is of no use to individuals. So some companies may be misleading the public.

Afford Minerals and Antioxidants

A common claim is that spirulina contains an extensive and significant range of unique vitamins and minerals. There is nothing in spirulina that is not also present in various plants, vegetables, and fruits, and it is also easily digested. If you can’t get enough fresh vegetables and fruits, but spirulina is still readily available. It can be beneficial to a regular diet because it has an undeniable wealth of vitamins and nutritional supplements. Spirulina contains an excellent variety of antioxidants such as beta-carotene, which is part of the debate that forms significant claims. It is advantageous for cancer prevention. But there is simply no evidence that beta-carotene is effective in cancer prevention.
